Alumni Services Representative Membership
|
The California Alumni Association is seeking an outstanding Alumni Services Representative for our Membership department. The successful candidate will be responsible for customer relations by taking primary responsibility for greeting alumni and students, both by telephone and in person. Our Alumni Service Representatives encourage membership in CAA; handle membership inquiries, applications and correspondence; and maintain the accuracy of our database by updating biographical, affiliation, address, and payment information. This position reports to the Manager, Membership Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Gain knowledge of CAA and University policies, events, and facilities, in order to answer general questions from alumni and the public • Greet and assist alumni and students entering or telephoning the Alumni House and Membership Office for membership and general campus inquiries • Back up for the Front Desk Receptionist • Tracks and records the mailing of premiums to members • Handle routine membership correspondence and respond to informational e-mails about CAA and the @cal on-line community using prepared responses • Processes Internet membership applications • Print membership cards and complete the fulfillment of membership packages, and reply to benefit information requests • Perform CADS database updating of basic member contact, biographical, address and affiliation information and batching of membership payments • Update membership status in CADS • Update Membership ACCESS database with current member information, payment and campaign information • Balance daily receipts of membership payments against accounting department records • Other duties and special projects as assigned
TRAINING INCLUDES: Introduction to CADS Database (Bio Inquiry), Biographical Update and Membership Module training
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong oral and written communication skills. Education and/or comparable experience as a customer service representative. Excellent telephone etiquette with clear, precise communication skills. Strong organizational skills and detailed-oriented. Interpersonal skills are a must; regular and punctual attendance is critical. Excellent computer skills in spreadsheet, database management, data entry and word processing applications. Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize duties. Ability to interact effectively and enthusiastically with diverse groups. Typing minimum of 45 words per minute.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: College Degree. Knowledge and familiarity of the Cal campus. HTML knowledge. Data analysis and report writing experience helpful.
Salary & Benefits: This is a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position. Pay range will be between $30,000 – 33,000/year. Compensation will be commensurate with job requirements and experience.
