I am interested in networking with individuals who have experience working with:
Corporate Credit/Loan Syndications Investor RelationsReal Estate Finance (including single asset buy/sell analysis, portfolio allocation, development and capital markets)
My Background: I have held banking and finance positions where I was responsible for structuring and negotiating joint ventures for debt and equity, and recommending syndicated debt participations. My transaction experience includes mergers and acquisitions, project financing, recapitalizations and sponsor-led leveraged buyouts. My industry experience is very broad, covering a variety of sectors. I have a strong corporate credit background, having completed a formal bank credit training program. My background also includes real estate acquisition/disposition analysis, development feasibility analysis, and development management. Asset types include hotel, office, and industrial projects (both domestic and international).
My Greatest Asset is my ability to 1) Understand strategic goals, i.e., the “big picture”; then 2) Formulate and execute an effective step-by-step plan to reach that goal. Whether that goal is to complete a transaction or fix a problem, I understand how to work with diverse groups to build consensus in order to reach that goal. Taking complex concepts and ideas, and translating them in a way that is understandable to both internal and external clients is also an area where I excel.
My Last Position was working at Chiron (which was acquired by Novartis) as a Manager in their corporate finance department, where I was responsible for financial structuring and analysis of joint ventures and product acquisitions. I also provided internal consulting to the Corporate Real Estate department to model and structure single asset and portfolio acquisitions/dispositions.
I Work Best when I’m around people who are team players in the truest sense. I prefer an innovative environment, where strategic goals are understood by all parties involved. I prefer an environment with objective success markers to mark my progress in the company.
My Dream Job Would Be to work in a position where I can add value by utilizing my banking background, and/or real estate experience. I would prefer working for a stable, yet energetic, well established company versus a start-up entity.
My Next Step is to set up interviews with executive search firms and with potential employers for direct hire positions. Additionally, I welcome the opportunity to meet with individuals in my areas of interest for networking purposes. I am open to positions in all geographic locations, with New York, Houston and Northern California as my top three choices.
I welcome any suggestions, leads, opportunities, or information that could be helpful in my job search. Feel free to contact me at: gtowns@alum.berkeley.edu
Thank you,
Gordon Towns
