Profile of the Month:

Hansa Shah '01
Resume

I am interested in networking with individuals who have experience working with:

  • Educational Companies
  • Entrepreneurship in Education
  • Corporations with an emphasis on children's education
My Background:
  • Math Teacher/Middle and High School Level
  • Worked in under-served communities in the Bay Area
  • Extensive knowledge in leadership and teacher professional development
My Greatest Asset is my persistence and will to go after opportunities that further my knowledge. My approach to life is similar to my approach to teaching - instill upon my students that anything is possible through hard work, perseverance and out-of-the-box thinking. I am very passionate in all that I do and have a willingness to adapt to change.

My Last Position was a 9th and 10th grade math teacher in San Francisco. I strived to create a classroom environment that offered students the tools to empower themselves and become active participants in their own education. Before teaching in San Francisco, I taught math for three years at Elmhurst Middle School in Oakland because of my passion, energy and commitment in making a difference in the lives of under-served youth.

I Work Best through open communication and teamwork where people are willingly expressing their ideas and gaining insight in what others have to say.

My Dream Job Would Be to start an educational company that would revolutionize the way students are taught and offer them meaningful ways to learn. By starting my own business, I have the freedom to choose my own hours, the flexibility to balance time with family and work, and the independence to put my ideas into something for which I feel deeply passionate.

My Next Step is to get some exposure to an educational company where I can utilize the skills I have developed as a teacher to gain experience in a new field.

I welcome any suggestions, leads, opportunities, or information that could be helpful in my job search. Feel free to contact me at Hansa11Shah@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Hansa Shah
