Resume

I am interested in networking with individuals who have experience working with:

  • Film/TV production and development
  • Music production and booking
  • Magazine or book publishing
  • Club/organization development
  • Not-for-profits
  • Mentorship programs
  • Performing arts
My Background:
  • Music and Film Production
  • Sound Editor and Technician
  • Executive Assistant
  • Youth Mentor
I think my communication skills are my greatest asset. I not only listen closely; I am also good at reading and understanding people. I have alleviated many tense situations by simply restating and addressing a customer’s or coworker’s concerns. I am passionate about helping others. I gain the most satisfaction when I can see an improvement in an individual's circumstance, which is why I’m attracted to Not-for-profits and mentorship programs. I would love to work for a company that combines the arts and helping professions. I have experience working with people of every age group and from many walks of life. As a former assistant to an attorney, the Editor-in-Chief of Film Quarterly Magazine, and to a documentary film producer, I have also become adept at multitasking and working independently.

My Last Position was working as a Senior Field Coordinator for Microsoft and Intel, showing off the new “Media Center PC”. The hours were often long, but interfacing with the public made the days worthwhile! I was being paid to socialize! Each person brought a new energy, new questions, and a new challenge my way—and I always tried to have them leave with a smile. My supervisor found me to be extremely dependable, and not only rewarded me with more hours, but invited me to work with him on future projects. My excitement is contagious, as is my work ethic, and I have no problem motivating others to work with me to successfully execute an event or complete a task.

I Work Best when I am personally responsible for a number of duties and can create my own work while being part of a strong team with clear goals. I particularly enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and being surrounded by creative-minded people. Examples of the work for which I am most proud include creating a focus group for a film production studio that met weekly to read and discuss 12 feature film scripts a week. When I was President of Order of Omega, a National Greek honor society, I created new officer positions in order to involve more people in the club. Our membership doubled that semester and today the organization is thriving.

My Dream Job Would Be to produce feature films and/or public television. I would also love to work as a booking agent or general manager for a venue or organization that frequently hosts live entertainment.

My Next Step is to work for a film, music, or other artistic company as a paid intern or entry-level employee. I am prepared to start at the bottom and work my way up. My future employer will see me go out of my way to do the job right, and be the best person for my position. I am an overachiever and love to work long hours, two perfect traits for a film editor, or anyone involved in the arts. When I love my work, it is almost impossible for me to become bored, and I throw myself into my job—and with that energy, how could you not want me to work for you!

I welcome any suggestions, leads, opportunities, or information that could be helpful in my job search! Feel free to contact me at: heather_scott2004@yahoo.com.

Thank you!
