My Background: • SHEFINDS.COM, New York, NY Founder and CEO of SheFinds.com and SheFindsMom.com, web publications that put commerce in context to drive purchase conversion. • AMERICA ONLINE, DULLES, VA AND NEW YORK, NY BRAND DIRECTOR, KEY AUDIENCES • CBS Broadcast Group, New York, NY Director, Internet Entertainment Marketing • KTVU-FOX Television, Oakland, CA Associate Producer My Greatest Asset is Getting creative about how to get something done. As an entrepreneur and as and employee I always looked for a way around the wall blocking my way. My Last Position was AMERICA ONLINE, New York, NY and Dulles,VA Director, Creative Development I oversaw editorial development for segments of the AOL service. Focus on Entertainment content and content for Key Audiences: Women, African American and Teens.
One of the things that kept hitting home is that women are split in half… one half is the woman who is CEO of her home – she goes to work, pays bills, gets kids to soccer practice and plans dinner, and the other half is the woman who wants a bubble bath, a glass of chardonnay and time to have her nails done. Women are time-starved. My goal is to help women use the Internet to add time back into their lives and fulfill their desires to look and feel better about themselves.
I Work Best when I'm creating something new. While working in D.C., I used to shop at the outlet malls for friends who didn't have time. Meanwhile, last Christmas was the biggest online shopping season ever, with an increase in spending of nearly 20 percent over the previous year. So after five years at AOL, I started thinking… say you want to buy black pants. No one was telling you the best place to buy black pants on the Internet. Shopping magazines like Lucky were popping up, but the online content did not exist, so I created SheFinds. My Dream Job Would Be Running my own company, but with more people to help so we can grow faster. My Next Step is I have ten more sites to launch —next-up kidfinds, bridefinds, shefindsit.... I could use some help from Cal Bears interested in working with me or helping me get to the next level. I welcome any suggestions, leads, opportunities, or information that could be helpful in my job search. Feel free to contact me at: michelle@shefinds.com. Thank you, Michelle Resume
