Bear Profile

Vishaal Pegany '07

I am interested in networking with individuals who have experience working with:

  • Film and TV production
  • Writing for Film and TV
  • Programming
  • Production Management
  • Syndication/Distribution

My Background:

  • Editor-in-Chief, California Alumni Association TAAP in Motion magazine
  • Development Assistant, California Alumni Association (CAA)

My Greatest Asset is my calm demeanor, which aids my ability to work efficiently on multiple time-sensitive projects, whether independently or in a group setting.

My Last Position was within The Achievement Award Program (TAAP), where I acted as the Editor-in-Chief of our student-produced magazine. I helped usher in an entirely new and fresh graphic style that incorporated the talents of numerous students in the program. I also made sure deadlines were met, negotiated with vendors and oversaw distribution.

From my work as a Development Assistant for the past 3 years, I have also accrued skills of communication, professional organization, and close attention to detail, all of which transfer strongly to my future goals.

I Work Best when I am in a setting where I can both learn from as well as contribute to the success of a project.

My Dream Job Would Be writing and directing for TV after having considerable knowledge and experience of the factors that contribute to a successful television series—specifically what goes into creating quality and compelling narratives as well as the business/marketing ends.

My Next Step is to obtain an internship where I will have first hand experience with all the factors that go into writing, directing, producing, and marketing a film or TV show.

Having studied at Lorenzo de’ Medici, the Art Institute of Florence, Italy, my instructors for my film production course taught me that creativity and technical skills are often seen as separate. Instead, they emphasize that when one grasps a mastery of both it will not only significantly enhance the quality of one’s work but inform the way one approaches future artistic endeavors. Specifically, I would love to gain technical mastery of camera work and the software program Final Cut Pro.

I welcome any suggestions, leads, opportunities, or information that could be helpful in my job search. Feel free to contact me at: vishaalpegany@gmail.com

Thank you,

Vishaal Pegany
