Students and their parents are invited to come and meet other Cal students as well as Cal alumni from the area. Walt has a wonderful pool, so bring your towel and swim suit. There will be food, so come hungry.

Westside Cal Alumni, Wheels for Humanity, North Hollywood

Volunteer your time to make a change in someone else's life. As a volunteer, you will get to repair and refurbish wheelchairs for children and adults in developing countries. Only a few hours of your day can significantly change the rest of another person's life.
Wheels for Humanity staff will provide training, guidance, tools and support to all the volunteers. Volunteers will be working in warehouse environment, please wear closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing.

In this US election year we asked members about working with another alumni group for a first joint event. The overwhelming response was for all California schools. Stanford, UCLA, and USC have groups in Hong Kong and accepted the invitation. This month's Cal/Haas Bar of the Month (BOM) is a special one at Racks MDB, 7th Floor M88 Building 2-8 Wellington St, 7pm - 9pm, Aug 20, Central. Look forward to seeing you there.

Gregory A. Brower: United States Attorney General for the State of Nevada. Mr. Brower received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to this appointment, he served at the U.S. Department of Justice where he was Legislative Counsel in the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys. Before moving to Washington DC, he was an active member of Bears in the Woods.
Mike Montgomery: CAL’s new men’s basketball coach. Coach Montgomery comes to Berkeley with an outstanding coaching record (547-244) and twenty five winning seasons on the “Stanfurd Farm”. Need I say more? Come, meet him, and hear about the upcoming basketball season.
