Finding himself “a little removed from the Bay Area,” San Diego attorney Glenn Baity (B.A.’92, Economics and Film) says it’s important that Cal have more representation in Southern California. With five years as president of the Cal Alumni Club of San Diego under his belt, he is helping to do just that.
Baity, who is general counsel for biotechnology company Acadia Pharmaceuticals, has a vision: “My interest in joining the Cal Alumni Association board was about maintaining my involvement with the University and giving back. And I’d like to get more events going in the area.”
A season ticket holder to Cal football games, Baity went to every away game and every home game in the 2006 season. Joining the CAA board, he says, will give him another reason to come back to the Bay Area. “Although,” he jokes, “they don’t always schedule the meetings to coincide with the football games.”
