Two years ago, Carl Jacobs (B.S. ‘65, Management) proudly sang the national anthem at a Cal v. Stanford men’s basketball game. Named “one of the most active people on campus” in the 1965 annual, the Los Angeles–based management consultant has begun thinking about the “next chapter” in his life. Cal will always play a primary role.
“I have a philosophy of life: Something to do, someone to love, something to look forward to, and something to give back,” says Jacobs, who brings plenty of experience to the CAA board, including serving on the board of the Hollywood Master Chorale, and his current role on the board of the California Science Center.
“I would like to think that having worked to make organizations more effective for as long as I have, I can be of some help in that regard. And I have been motivated to arm-twist people into participating,” Jacobs chuckles, before signing off with “Go Bears! … those are the last words of the national anthem, aren’t they?”
