Betty Yee has served as senior staff to several policy and fiscal committees in both the California State Senate and California State Assembly, and as the Chief Deputy Director for Budget with the California Department of Finance, she is the First District Member on the State Board of Equalization. In 2002, Yee earned the Distinguished Service Award from the California State Association of Counties and recognition from the California Assessors’ Association for her work in establishing the State-County Property Tax Administration Program. She co-founded the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project.
