Frequently Asked Questions

How does my student get to camp?

Parents will be asked to drive their student to and from camp—though the Lair may be able to provide transportation for a family in need.

Are parents invited?

A polite No!, though parents are welcome to stay locally for the duration of the session if that is more convenient for them. A special rate is being offered for CPC parents at the CAA’s Pinecrest Chalet—call 209.965.3276 for more details.

Will there be an adult in each tent?

There will be at least one adult chaperone staying in each of the four 6–7-cabin tent circles, supervising after-class activity.

What else about the tents?

They are as described—simple, but cozy. All tents are same-sex accommodations.

Will my student have a break from the indoor class curriculum and be able to enjoy the fresh mountain air?

Yes, there will be plenty of time for your student to be active and participate in some fun outdoor Lair programming.

Is this program really going to be beneficial to my student and is he/she going to have fun?

We will offer invaluable direction to our attendees and IT'S OUR #1 GOAL to provide—in a fun and spirited environment—the tools necessary to conduct a successful college search, to present SAT and ACT test planning strategies, to offer sound direction on applying for scholarships and financial aid, and provide first hand testimonials about the college experience. A full curriculum to be sure, but this is what we will deliver!
