Here’s a tennis getaway that is guaranteed to raise your game and spirits—and it’s not just because of the Lair’s breathtaking scenery! This four-day Academy provides everything you need to become a confident, or more confident, competitor on the court. Sign up early because space is limited. New to the Lair this year and designed by world-class coaches (with a heavy Cal presence and several NCAA Championships among them) exclusively for women’s league tennis players, the Academy provides a holistic approach to instruction that focuses on far more than helping you develop your winning strokes. Besides drilling the technical skills, you’ll also benefit by learning:

• to develop your mental game
• in-depth doubles strategy and tactics
• how to develop successful team culture (team captains, are you listening?)
• to be a confident doubles partner regardless of your designated partner
• about age-appropriate fitness, injury prevention, and nutrition

How else can you expect to benefit from your fabulous tennis immersion at the Lair? You’ll receive lots of individual time to work with your coach, since the ratio at the Academy is a cozy 6:1.

If you thrive on learning you’ll thrive here. You’ll receive a personalized assessment including video analysis, plus tailored game plans for practice and match play. The only thing we don’t provide is your Varsity tennis letter at the end of the session. Yet, we guarantee you’ll feel like you’ve earned one just the same! In addition to wonderful Lair tennis memories, you'll take home a personalized assessment of your game, with specific tools and tactics to make the most of your practice and match play.

Three of your elite coaches will include 2011 Cal Hall of Fame inductees, Coach Jan Brogan (one of the winningest NCAA tennis coaches) and Amy Jensen (three-time NCAA Doubles Champion); plus former Cal Coach of the Year and currently nationally-recognized sport psychology consultant, speaker and author, Kathy Toon. These coaches are also the founders of GlamSlam Tennis, the largest online tennis club and community for women who who are serious about their game.
