USPTA Pro 1 and head tennis professional at the Scott Valley Tennis Club in Mill Valley, CA, Helle Viragh Sparre returns to the Lair.
“I love this game,” Helle says, “and I want to give back some of the great things I have learned over the years. My strength lies in my ability to see the smallest detail in a player’s stroke, footwork and preparation and explain these details in many ways. As a tennis pro my greatest accomplishment lies in my doubles strategy. This has made it possible to win a number of doubles titles and to write a book on doubles called Dynamite Doubles, which was published in 2001.”
A native of Denmark and a tough competitor, Helle won more than 30 national junior and adult championships in the country. She turned pro at the age of 17 after holding a ranking of No. 1. In her professional career from 1973 to ‘78, she reached a ranking of No. 49. She won the 1978 U.S. Clay Court Doubles with Swedish player Helena Anliot and was a Denmark Federation Cup team member. Helle played for the United States Young Cup 40s team in 1997, winning the world championship. She also won the 1997 world championship in doubles with playing partner Sheri Bronson.
Helle will be teaching tennis at Lair Golf and Tennis Camp and GlamSlam Tennis Academy for Women.

In 2007 she traveled to China and Tibet with a qigong program. She continues her practice in Davis where she also is a marriage and family therapist.
