Class of 2022
Emily (Wun-Yue) Hou is a first-generation sophomore at UC Berkeley majoring in Public Health and Economics. She is a CAA Alumni Scholar and a recipient of The Achievement Award Program (TAAP). In her work on the Alumni Scholars Board, she serves as the finance chair to oversee and manage annual budget for 5 committees. She also mentors and helps connect local high school students with various skill-building workshops, scholarship opportunities, and resources for college.
Emily is primarily involved with the Global Leadership Organization as the Counselor Operation and Finance Lead for the Fall 2019 Biannual Leadership Training Summit. She is also the VP of Marketing at the Berkeley Chapter, where she spearheaded semesterly recruitment campaigns, generated digital contents, and coordinated event campaigns on social media platforms. Lastly, Emily launched a Career Development Coffee Chat Program that provides personal and professional development, and promotes community building.
Emily is also involved with Reach! Asian & Pacific Islander Recruitment and Retention Center, serving as a head mentor for 250+ Bay Area high schoolers and potential UC Berkeley students from low-income family households, and led workshops regarding the importance of higher education and availability of financial aid, grants, and scholarships.
As an Alumni Scholar and a CAA board member, she looks forward to serving UC Berkeley and CAA by providing unique student input and perspective, and fostering an engaged, supportive community.
