Amy Tong

Amy Tong ’12 is a member of LinkedIn’s Business Operations & Strategy team, a group that directly serves leadership on high-level business strategy. Tong prides herself on advancing initiatives that expand the reach of recruiters and dismantle social capital barriers to increase economic mobility for all. While in business school, she was a leading member of Return on Equality and worked with the school’s administration to provide programming that promotes diversity and inclusion on campus, bringing these topics to the forefront for future business leaders. She also led inclusion efforts at the Skanska Women’s Network and the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.

Tong earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Berkeley. An active Cal alumna, she coached the Cal Construction Team, preparing civil engineering students for the annual Associated Schools of Construction competition and careers in the building industry. Many of her students went on to land full-time jobs and internships with global builders. Tong holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Columbia University and graduated as a Palmer Scholar from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Cal is a special place for Tong, since it is where she found her story. She feels lucky that her alma mater is committed to providing a world-class education for people from diverse backgrounds.
