Coordinator, Membership Sales

The Cal Alumni Association is seeking an outstanding Membership Sales Coordinator who will be responsible for actively selling CAA memberships. The successful candidate will be responsible for soliciting memberships by telephone, email, and in person as well as coordinating efforts with the Development team.  Our Membership Sales Coordinator will also handle membership inquiries, applications and correspondence; and maintain the accuracy of our database by updating biographical, affiliation, and payment information. The Membership Sales Coordinator position reports to the Director, Membership.

 
Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct outbound membership sales calls and emails to lapsed members as well as prospects identified through the database and referrals.

  • Assist the Director, Membership with developing the sales strategy to increase membership sales.

  • Greet and assist alumni and students entering, phoning, or emailing the Alumni House and Membership Office.

  • Perform CADS database updating of basic member contact, biographical, address and affiliation information.

  • Print membership cards and complete the fulfillment of membership packages.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

 Training Includes: CADS Orientation, CADS Communication Entry, CADS Persons and Codes Entry, CADS Organizations Entry, CADS Membership Module

 
Required Qualifications: 
  • Ability to sell via phone, email, and in person.

  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.

  • Excellent computer skills in spreadsheet, database management and word processing applications (MS Office Suite, Google Applications).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Education and/or comparable experience with data entry and customer service; ability to input a consistent large volume of data entry with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Excellent telephone etiquette with clear, precise communication skills.

  • Organized and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize duties.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; regular and punctual attendance is critical.

  • Ability to interact effectively and enthusiastically with diverse groups.

  • Professional demeanor, conduct, performance and appearance are a must.

  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support CAA and Campus-wide events in addition to assigned work-shift.

  • Ability to learn and use UC Berkeley’s CADS database.

  • Must submit to and pass Consumer Report and FBI/DOB fingerprint background investigations.

  • Must possess valid CA driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • College graduate

  • UC Berkeley alumnus/a

  • Sales experience

Salary and Benefits: 

This position is classified as an at-will, full-time, non-exempt position working approximately 37.5 hours per week, with an appointment term not to exceed 1 year (may be renewed). Pay range will be between $20-21 per hour and is eligible to participate in company sponsored benefits.
