Coordinator, Membership Services

The Cal Alumni Association is seeking an outstanding Membership Coordinator who will be responsible for membership payment processing and customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for customer relations by taking primary responsibility for greeting alumni in the Membership office, both by telephone and in person. Our Membership Coordinators encourage membership in CAA; handle membership inquiries, applications and correspondence; and maintain the accuracy of our database by updating biographical, affiliation, and payment information. The Coordinator, Membership Services position reports to the Director, Membership.

TRAINING INCLUDES: CADS Orientation, CADS Communication Entry, CADS Persons and Codes Entry, CADS Organizations Entry, CADS Membership Module

  • Greet and assist alumni and students entering, phoning, or emailing the Alumni House and Membership Office

  • Handle routine correspondence regarding membership, CAA and University policies, events, and facilities, and the @cal online community using prepared responses

  • Perform CADS database updating of basic member contact, biographical, address and affiliation information

  • Enter membership payments into the CADS database

  • Check daily receipts of membership payments against exported CADS data

  • Update Membership Access database with current member information, payment and campaign information

  • Print membership cards and complete the fulfillment of membership packages

  • Fulfill, track and record the mailing of premiums to members

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications: 
  • Excellent computer skills in spreadsheet, database management and word processing applications (MS Office Suite, Google Applications)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Education and/or comparable experience with data entry and customer service; ability to input a consistent large volume of data entry with a high degree of accuracy

  • Excellent telephone etiquette with clear, precise communication skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize duties

  • Strong interpersonal skills; regular and punctual attendance is critical

  • Ability to interact effectively and enthusiastically with diverse groups

  • Professional demeanor, conduct, performance and appearance are a must

  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support CAA and Campus-wide events in addition to assigned work-shift

  • Ability to learn and use UC Berkeley’s CADS database

  • Must submit to and pass Consumer Report and FBI/DOB fingerprint background investigations

  • Must possess valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • College graduate

  • UC Berkeley alumnus/a

  • Experience with advancement databases, such as CADS

  • Familiarity with UC Berkeley and/or the Cal Alumni Association

Salary and Benefits: 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:  This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position with a pay range of $19/hr - $20.50/hr.  CAA offers a highly competitive benefits package and positive work-life balanced environment. CLASSIFICATION:  Non-exempt, hourly paid position.  Work hours: 37.5 hours per week.
