She holds two degrees from Berkeley—a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Business Administration. In 2004, Chambers launched a consulting practice, Chambers & McAlpine Associates, Inc., specializing in developing innovative financial technology strategies. She served on the Berkeley Haas Alumni Council as president from 2003 to 2005 and has served as president of the East Bay chapter of the Haas Alumni Network since 2006.
