Talia Kennedy leads virtual reality product teams at Meta (formerly Facebook). Her team’s acquisition, monetization and ads products have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue and propelled the Meta Quest (formerly Oculus) app to the top of the Apple and Google app store charts. She shipped FB5, a complete redesign of the Facebook app, and has built VR growth products across the Meta family of apps, including Facebook, Instagram and in VR.
Before Meta, she led product teams at Apple that built the digital shopping experiences for iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV and HomePod launches, among other products, and led the 0→1 launches of Refurbished iPhone and Refurbished Apple Watch. Before Apple, she led product and growth teams at venture-backed start-ups focused on novel forms of digital shopping, social commerce and creator monetization.
Talia earned her master’s degree from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, where she was elected as one of the founding members of the school’s Student Leadership Committee. She completed her undergraduate degree in one year and ten months and was accepted to attend UC Berkeley for graduate school at age 19. Her writing has been published in The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle, among others.
Talia advises MBA students and alumni as an industry specialist for product management at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. She is an alum of the McKinsey Next Generation Women Leaders program and an International Baccalaureate World School, where she completed the IB Diploma Programme and Middle Years Programme. She is also an angel investor.
Talia was elected to serve on the CAA board of directors in 2019 and is a member of the audit, nominating, alumni engagement and digital revenue generation committees. She previously served on the finance, young alumni engagement and California magazine committees.
