Operations Coordinator
Accounting and Human Resources Departments Hybrid, Pinecrest, CA
The Cal Alumni Association Accounting and Human Resources departments are seeking an Operations Coordinator to support our Lair of the Golden Bear family camp in Pinecrest, CA. You’ll be part of the team that builds and supports a community and infrastructure that enables staff to achieve their business goals. The Departments are responsible for complying with accounting and labor procedures, laws, and regulations.
About the Lair:
Nestled deep in the Stanislaus National Forest at Pinecrest, California, you’ll find the Lair of the Golden Bear, an unforgettable family summer vacation spot—owned and operated by the Cal Alumni Association since 1949. The Lair consists of three camps: Camp Gold, opened in 1949, Camp Blue, opened in 1957, and Camp Oski, opened in 1997. The camps are located just one half-mile from each other. All camps are located in the Stanislaus National Forest on U.S. Forest Service land.

Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and human resources clerical support for Lair of the Golden Bear (Lair) business unit.
- Meet regularly with and timely inform CFO and Sr. Director of Human Resources of issues, problems, or errors.
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs and staff member’s professional growth.

- Accounting Department Operations (60%)
- Collect from staff, scan, and organize paper receipts, bills, and other compliance documentation.
- Confirm vendor contact information. Ensure charge account information at local vendors is up-to-date.
- Assist with collecting and collating documentation needed for an annual non-profit financial audit.
- Track and identify modifications to Lair Grid for seasonal staff.
- Human Resources (40%)
- Assist with on and off-boarding staff members, processing documentation, and updating our HR database.
- Track and respond to employee questions sent to our HR intake email account
- Assist with the intake, filing, and tracking of workers comp claims.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to work with sensitive and highly confidential information.
- Well organized with keen attention to detail.
- Regular and punctual attendance is critical.
- Strong clerical computer skills, including: communicating by email, organizing information using Microsoft Excel and the Google Suite applications, and scanning documents using mobile apps, desktop scanners.
- Excellent time management skills; demonstrated ability to meet firm deadlines; trusted to work with and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Professional demeanor, conduct, and performance are a must. Able to interact effectively with diverse colleagues, customers, and vendors.
- Must submit to and pass Consumer Report and FBI/DOB fingerprint background investigations.
- Possess valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clerical experience in highly regulated business.
- Experience with tracking worker’s compensation claims.
- Not-for-profit experience.
Salary and Benefits
Pay Range: $23-27/hr
This position is classified as an at-will, full-time, non-exempt, hourly, position working approximately 37.5 hours per week, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The position is eligible to participate in company-sponsored benefits. CAA offers a competitive benefits package, participation in a 403(b) retirement savings plan with company match, and generous paid time‐off benefits. COVID-19 Temporary Adjustments
The Cal Alumni Association is preparing for our return to the office. Staff will be expected to work a hybrid schedule, with some jobs required to work onsite a majority of the time depending on job duties. Health Care Benefits:
