Executive Director
John Clamme
John brings nearly three decades of experience across higher education, alumni engagement, athletics, corporate partnerships, and enterprise transformation. His leadership roles at Cal Athletics and the Haas School of Business included building major corporate partnerships, strengthening alumni engagement, and deepening collaboration across campus. Most recently, John served in Deloitte’s Higher Education practice, where he advised universities nationwide on strategy, operations, technology, and organizational change.
John returns to UC Berkeley with a deep understanding of the institution, a commitment to partnership, and a strong alignment with CAA’s mission and values.
General Manager, Lair of the Golden Bear
Cathy Connelly
In January 2025, Cathy was named General Manager of the Lair of the Golden Bear. Cathy served as the Lair’s interim general manager for the previous eleven months. In her previous role as senior director, Pinecrest operations, Cathy oversaw Lair reservations, special groups, camper experience, marketing, and camper communications. Prior to 2008, Cathy worked in the gift and greeting card industry as a national sales director, growing sales and developing new business through national gift retailers, book stores, and specialty shops. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Long Beach, and is a lifelong Lair camper.
