August 26: Update for Cal Alumni Regarding the Tuolumne County Rim Fire

Dear Lair Campers, Cal Alumni, and Friends,

I would like to make you aware that an advisory evacuation notice has been extended along the south side of Hwy. 108, from Mi-Wuk Village all of the way up to Pinecrest, where the Lair of the Bear and Pinecrest Chalet are located. While the evacuation is not mandatory at this time, we are advising all remaining guests at the Chalet to depart from the area. The Lair has already been vacated, and all camp sessions through August 29 have been canceled.

Click here to watch the Mi-Wuk community village meeting that took place on Monday, August 26, at 4 p.m. PDT.

Our teams are closely monitoring the direction and progress of the fire, and we are posting regular updates on our Cal Alumni Association’s Facebook page and the Lair Facebook page.

Thank you for your continued positive thoughts.

Quincy and her staff did an amazing job of getting the Women’s Wellness Camp ready for us . It was very sad to begin with such enthusiasm and end so suddenly. We were all heartbroken. Again Quincy and her staff were so helpful to the attendees with coordinating their departures. I am so looking forward to next summer and continuing what we started. We’ll have a great program.
