At the close of our first-ever virtual Berkelium 5K Run/Walk, Friday, October 16, nearly 700 participants displayed a renewed sense of togetherness among the people in our diverse Cal community—even in the virtual world we find ourselves in now.
From all over the globe, alumni and friends of Cal sported blue and gold and fervently showed pride in Berkeley as they ran or walked the 5K. Berkelium 5K participants conjured up Cal spirit all the way from Canada, England, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, and Switzerland! Collectively, 830 miles were completed in support of the Cal Alumni Association (CAA) and its alumni and student programming.
The virtual 5K had every member of the campus community—young and old—and their furry friends getting outside and showing off their commitment to Berkeley. 44 families decked out in Cal wear ran or walked together for the family-friendly event.
Supporting CAA means something different for everyone. Thank you to those who joined the Berkelium 5K and took care to submit a video expressing the importance of their alumni association to them. The short video below showcases some of the reasons why the Cal community “rolls on” for CAA.
