Mark Woods ’71 writes: “This book presents over 200 photos in 96 pages I made from ’68 to ’73. As you might imagine these photos and scenes have been floating around in my brain for the last 50 plus years. Some of you may be in or recognize someone in the book. There is Hubert, General Wastemoreland, Hassan the flower seller on Cody’s Plaza and others. It started as an Independent Study in the Anthro Dept. of one block of Telegraph Ave. (between Dwight & Haste) that grew into a larger study of the community during and after I graduated. Now I have organized and published the photos to bring the whole community, not just the street scene, into focus. It was a remarkable time I shared with many of you. I covered the Jazz Festival for the Daily Cal, and shot other images for the University. Chapter 1 – The Ave, Chapter 2 – Tense Campus, Chapter 3 – Quiet Campus, Chapter 4 – Jazz & Rock Music, Chapter 5 – People’s Park, Chapter 6 – Craftsmen, Chapter 7 – 63rd St. You can see some of the photos on my website: www.markwoods.com.“
