Our Facilities

Just three hours from the SF Bay Area, the Cal Alumni Association’s Lair of the Golden Bear offers a variety of versatile facilities, including on-site and nearby conference centers, an outdoor amphitheater and stages, indoor dining halls and lodges, Wi-Fi, and audiovisual equipment.

Our properties are designed to accommodate groups of all sizes, featuring spacious venues for large gatherings and spaces perfect for smaller groups or breakout sessions. The Lair provides a unique setting that fosters creativity, relaxation, and collaboration. We would be delighted to work with you to bring your vision for the perfect event to life!

Activities and Experiences

Given our stunning location in the Sierra, the Lair offers groups ample opportunity for team-building activities, recreational options, and relaxation. There is hiking directly from camp and within a short drive; and Pinecrest Lake offers kayaking, fishing, and more. Around camp, guests can relax by the pool or at the lodge, play tennis or ping pong, enjoy some quiet time at their tent, or find a peaceful spot under the pines.

Lodging and Meals

Our group rental packages offer flexible accommodation options to suit your needs, including charming tent cabins and/or cozy year-round heated cabins. Every package includes three hearty meals a day, thoughtfully prepared to fuel your group’s activities and keep everyone satisfied. We’re happy to accommodate dietary restrictions, ensuring all guests can enjoy a comfortable and welcoming experience.

The Lair of the Golden Bear is best known for its action-packed summer programs, but with the opening of 15 cozy heated cabins, those seeking cool-weather adventures have a place to hibernate. The cabins are open year-round on select weekends and available to all—no Cal affiliation required—for family reunions, work retreats, weekends with family and friends, and other group outings.
