Golden Bear Orientation: Career Connections
Cal Alumni Mixer for New Transfer Students
The Cal Alumni Association (CAA), the Career Center, and New Student Services are hosting an alumni-student mixer for incoming transfer students during late-summer Golden Bear Orientation. Help us provide incoming transfer students with their first opportunity to network with alumni and explore various career paths through exposure to a variety of industries and expertise.
Event Details and FAQs
Golden Bear Orientation is a mandatory week-long orientation before classes begin for the semester, replacing Cal Student Orientation (CalSO) as the introductory program welcoming students to UC Berkeley.
Career Connections events require very little preparation. Alumni volunteers will be organized into networking groups based on their industry expertise. You will simply chat with interested students, share your path from Cal to career, and offer advice to those who hope to follow in your footsteps.
Why Volunteer?
- Assist incoming Cal transfer students with their career development
- Share your expertise and knowledge about your field
- Build new connections within the Cal alumni community
- Network and meet dedicated Cal students who might become great interns or employees at your organization
- Give back to your alma mater by working directly with students
