Wells Fargo Cal Corporate Alumni Committee

Cal alumni at Wells Fargo are forming the first Cal Corporate Alumni Committee, with a staffed Wells Fargo Alumni Committee and toolkit from CAA. This committee will host networking events and work with alumni who are interested in career development, volunteering, and lifestyle activities.

Meet the Team

Fred Fannon ’08Fred Fannon ’08

Since graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in physics, Fred Fannon is currently a Marketing Program Manager at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco. Fred has been with the company full-time for nine years, with roles in finance and analytics along the way. His favorite college memories include racing/riding with Cal Cycling Club, working at the Cal sailing club at the Berkeley Marina, helping to found a club for out-of-state students, and camping out at Moffitt Library.

Fred enjoys staying involved with Cal students and alumni through events such as CAA scholarship reading, Top Dog with Top Dogs, and Lair of the Bear’s young alumni weekend. For the past several years, Fred has been a guest lecturer in collaboration with a professor at the Haas School of Business. Fred also remains committed to Cal sports throughout football, basketball, and other athletics. The most intellectually active, yet down-to-earth people are the friends that Fred made at Cal. To hone these relationships and to mentor others, Fred joined the Wells Fargo-Cal Alumni Committee board and is currently serving as president.

 

Ariadne Valadez

Ariadne is part of the Cyber Security Defense Office in Wells Fargo’s Corporate Risk group. In this role, Ariadne helps drive major cybersecurity-related initiatives, including enterprise asset management, infrastructure simplification, and assessment of emerging technologies. She is based in San Francisco and earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business.

Currently, Ariadne serves as the Director of Events and Education for the Latinos in Finance a non-profit organization that aims to strengthen the Latino community in the finance industry through education, connectivity, career advancement, and community service. Her hobbies include reading, dancing to Latin music, and running half marathons.

 

Richard Zhu ’09Richard Zhu ’09

Richard joined Wells Fargo Securities in 2009 and is based in San Francisco, CA. As a Vice President in the Investment Solutions group, Richard markets multi-asset class Market Linked Investments to retail and high net worth investors through Wells Fargo’s wealth management and brokerage channels. Prior to joining Investment Solutions, Richard completed Wells Fargo’s Financial Products rotational analyst program where he was trained in equities, commodities, interest rates and credit.

Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Richard is active in the community as a board member for the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, a nationally recognized institution developing young musicians and artists in low- and middle-income Bay Area communities. He also serves as a mentor to undergraduate students through Ascend, a non-profit Pan-Asian organization for business professionals.

In his spare time, Richard enjoys traveling abroad, attending concerts, playing classical piano, and following Bay Area sports teams.
