As a proud member of the Class of 1993 and former President of the Board, I know firsthand the value of our Berkeley experience and the bonds that unite us. Together, we form a community of more than 575,000 alumni, each of us with the potential to create meaningful change in the world.
CAA’s mission is to connect UC Berkeley alumni through programs that enrich our community. From California magazine, dynamic membership benefits, and mentorship opportunities, to Alumni Chapter events and engaging gatherings, we strive to build connections that resonate deeply. I’m excited about our plans for the future of the Lair of the Golden Bear family camp, as well as a new conference center. Both will serve as key spaces for reunion and growth.
Additionally, our Cal Discoveries Travel program offers unique, immersive travel experiences around the world, designed especially for Berkeley alumni. These adventures are opportunities not only to explore new places but to strengthen connections with fellow alumni and learn together.
We are committed to aligning our programs with the diverse needs of our community. By listening to you, we aim to enhance our offerings and support not only current students and alumni but also future leaders who emerge from our ranks.
Throughout history, Cal alumni have led significant efforts in science, technology, the arts, and social justice. As we move forward, I invite you to engage with CAA in new and meaningful ways. Your insights, involvement, and passion are essential to strengthening our community.
I am dedicated to ensuring that CAA remains a valuable resource for students and alumni alike—a place where you can find mentorship, connect with peers, and uphold the Berkeley tradition of giving back. Together, we can foster a collaborative spirit that uplifts not only our alumni but also the broader communities we serve.
Thank you for the warm welcome into this role. I look forward to connecting with many of you in the months to come as we embark on this journey together.
