What is the Lair?
With a backyard of incomparable beauty and stellar staff-led programming for campers of all ages, the Cal Alumni Association’s Lair of the Golden Bear is the perfect place to make family memories. We offer the whole family an all-inclusive vacation full of activities and relaxation at a great value. When the week is over, you will have fallen in love with our special corner of the Sierra Nevada—and you will be counting down the days until you return the next summer.

Thinking of joining us?
Campers love the Lair for myriad reasons. Many say our stellar college-aged staff, who go above and beyond to be helpful and make each camper’s stay the best possible, are the reason they return year after year. Adults love having some “me time” while kids are busy having fun with their staff-led activities or exploring camp. Folks also enjoy staff-led hikes, guest speakers, strolls to Pinecrest Lake, campfires and entertainment, plentiful meals, and simply lying in a hammock under the pines or diving into a book poolside. There are many more reasons to choose the Lair for your family’s vacation this summer, and we have additional information for new campers on our website.
Our priority booking period opens January 16 and runs through February 28, 2025. In the meantime, use the link below to set up an online Lair account and stay up-to-date on Lair news, deadlines, etc. When booking, be sure to enter ‘UC Berkeley Staff’ in the Special Request box to receive your 40% discount for camp Gold, Blue, or Oski during Week 2 (June 14-21) or Week 10 (August 9-16).
