It’s with heavy hearts that, due to the impact of COVID-19 and anticipated social protocols for large gatherings being directed by the CDC and other agencies, we will not be hosting a 2020 camping season at the Lair. Camper and staff safety is our number one priority, which has led to this extremely difficult and heart breaking decision.
If you booked a tent with us for this summer, here is general information on next steps ahead.
Will I get a full refund of my payment?
Yes, the Lair will be issuing full refunds of all payments made for the 2020 camping season.
What do I need to do to get my refund?
Every camper who requested a tent received an email on April 27 with a link to our refund form. Please submit this online form so we can accurately process your refund.
When will I receive my refund?
We expect to have all refunds processed by early- to mid-May.
How will I receive my refund?
If you saved your credit card in your online Lair account and it’s current, we will issue the refund as credit on that card’s account.
I didn’t save my credit card in my online Lair account, or my card is no longer valid. How do I get my refund?
If we can’t refund the exact card you used for your deposit, we will issue a refund check and mail it to the address we have on file for you in your online account. If you prefer that we mail the check to a different address, please send us an email to let us know.
I’d like to support the Lair by donating all or a portion of my deposit—how do I do this?
THANK YOU! We greatly appreciate your thoughts in trying to keep the Lair operating for years to come, since this year we will be incurring a big budget deficit. If you wish to donate all or a portion of your deposit, please send us an email before the end of April with the amount you’d like to donate. We can deduct the donation from the deposit amount and refund the difference. Your donation will be 100% tax deductible, and you’ll receive a tax receipt along with our deepest gratitude for supporting the Lair during these difficult days.
Can I request to have my deposit rolled over to 2021?
Sorry, but we are not able to accommodate carrying over deposits from 2020 for the 2021 season.
I didn’t pay a deposit, but would like to help support the Lair. How can I donate?

How will tent assignments work in 2021?
Everyone who requested a tent by our February 28 deadline will have top priority for getting a tent in 2021. If this was to be your first summer camping with us, if you’re on the waitlist, or if you were hoping to move to a different tent or different session, we will do everything we can to get you one of your top choices of tents in 2021. If you wish to know your 2020 tent assignment, please email us.
If things improve, would it be possible for the Lair to host some sessions later this summer?
If guidelines are lifted and it becomes feasible to host campers in some modified way, we will carefully consider.
How can I receive my tax receipt for camping in 2019?
