Jonathan Reinis
Jonathan Reinis has spent his entire working life in the theatre. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Cal in 1969, Jonathan went to HB Studio in New York to study directing. Upon returning to the Bay Area, he became the Executive Producer of the One Act Theatre Company in San Francisco with his wife, Hillary Reinis (Cal class of 1972) who was the general manager of the company. Soon, Jonathan renovated the Alcazar Theatre in San Francisco, which he ran from 1979 to 1984. In 1982, Jonathan built Theatre On The Square at 450 Post Street which he ran, with Hillary, for 22 years. He has produced hundreds of shows throughout the Bay Area and the world. Since 2001, Jonathan has won four Tony Awards and has been nominated six times. He has produced 14 shows on Broadway, including most recently Disgraced, Oh, Hello, Network and David Byrne’s American Utopia. In addition, Jonathan is a member of the Broadway League.
