She has used her knowledge of historical research to write more than seventy children’s books, from picture books to middle-grade and young adult novels. She has spent years living in France and Italy to do the necessary research and brings a vivid mix of art and daily life to her historical work. Her book, The Pharaoh’s Secret, focuses on Egypt’s powerful woman pharaoh, Hatshepsut, and the unique architecture of her mortuary temple, one of the world’s wonders.
