Make a tangible impact on the future leaders of Cal by reading and scoring undergraduate scholarship applications. Our in-person reading events in California give you the opportunity to socialize and network with fellow alumni. If you’re not in California or would prefer to contribute from the comfort of your own home, you can evaluate applications virtually by using our online portal.
Evaluate Applications Online
Read and evaluate scholarship applications from the comfort of your home. Virtual application readings are an opportunity that allow you to engage with the Cal community regardless of your proximity to reading events. Virtual application readers will receive all training materials and scholarship applications electronically. A step-by-step tutorial will explain the evaluation process. Virtual readers will be assigned 15 applications to review. While the completion time for these reviews varies from reader to reader, most volunteers find that completing an online reading takes approximately 2-3 hours total. Please note that virtual readers can work on their task in as many sittings as they wish.
Virtual reading events for the 2018-2019 cycle are listed below. Additional virtual reading events may be added depending on volume of applications received.
The Achievement Award Program/Kruttschnitt Aspire Scholarship Program
The Leadership Award (incoming students)
The Leadership Award (continuing students)
