Visit Alumni House

Alumni House is located on the south side of the UC Berkeley campus, east of the Haas Pavilion, north of Zellerbach Hall, and southwest of Dwinelle Hall. The nearest off-campus intersection is Bancroft Way and Dana St, which is just downhill from the intersection of Telegraph Ave and Bancroft Way.

Alumni House features four distinctive rooms and a lovely patio to accommodate large and small gatherings, conferences, weddings, banquets, and more. There is nearby parking and a full-service kitchen available.

Alumni House: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Membership Office: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.


Directions from BART

  1. Exit Bart Station onto Shattuck Ave.
  2. Walk south on Shattuck three blocks to Bancroft Way.
  3. Turn left on Bancroft and go up the hill along the south edge of campus—passing by the following streets on the right: Fulton and Ellsworth.
  4. Arrive at Bancroft and Dana St and turn left onto the campus.
  5. You’ll see Haas Pavilion (basketball) on your left.
  6. Alumni House is across from Haas Pavilion.

Driving Directions

From Northbound Highway 101 (San Francisco/Daly City)

  1. Follow 101 North and then switch to 80 East, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge.

  2. After the Bay Bridge, Stay left to I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento).

  3. Exit at University Ave.

  4. Drive East on University Ave. for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford St. Turn right on Oxford St (going South).

  5. Continue on Oxford St. for three blocks to Allston Way and make a U-turn. Make an immediate right turn onto Frank Schlessinger Way (going East) into the campus.

  6. Continue on Frank Schlessinger Way and you will see the tan, cement and glass one-story building that is Alumni House. The main entrance of the large Haas Pavilion faces the Alumni House.

From Highway 24

  1. From Highway 24 exit Telegraph Ave.

  2. Continue North on Telegraph until it ends at campus and you must turn left onto Bancroft Way.

  3. Make a right on Fulton St (2nd light), which will become Oxford St.
  4. Turn right onto Frank Schlessinger Way.

  5. Continue on Frank Schlessinger Way and you will see the tan, cement and glass one-story building that is Alumni House. The main entrance of the large Haas Pavilion faces the Alumni House.

From Westbound Highway 13

  1. Highway 13 becomes Tunnel Rd.

  2. Continue on Tunnel Rd. Tunnel Rd becomes Ashby Ave. near the Claremont Hotel.

  3. Turn right onto College Ave.

  4. Continue on College Ave until it ends at campus and you must turn left onto Bancroft Way.

  5. Make a right on Fulton St. (2nd light), which will become Oxford St.

  6. Turn right onto Frank Schlessinger Way.

  7. Continue on Frank Schlessinger Way and you will see the tan, cement and glass one-story building that is Alumni House. The main entrance of the large Haas Pavilion faces the Alumni House.

From I-80 Eastbound or Westbound

  1. Exit University Ave.

  2. Continue east on University Ave for approximately 1.5 miles and make a right on Oxford St.

  3. Continue on Oxford St. for three blocks to Allston Way and make a U-turn. Make an immediate right turn onto Frank Schlessinger Way (going East) into the campus.

  4. Continue on Frank Schlessinger Way and you will see the tan, cement and glass one-story building that is Alumni House. The main entrance of the large Haas Pavilion faces the Alumni House.

From Westbound I-580

  1. Exit I-80 East (to Berkeley, Sacramento).

  2. Exit at University Ave.

  3. Continue east on University Ave. for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford St.

  4. Turn right on Oxford St. (going South). Continue on Oxford St. for three blocks to Allston Way and make a U-turn. Make an immediate right turn onto Frank Schlessinger Way (going East) into the campus.

From Northbound I-880 (San Jose, Hayward, Oakland Airport)

  1. Exit 80 East (to Berkeley).

  2. Exit at University Ave.

  3. Continue East on University Ave. for approximately 2 miles to Oxford St.

  4. Turn right on Oxford St. (going South). Continue on Oxford St. for three blocks to Allston Way and make a U-turn. Make an immediate right turn onto Frank Schlessinger Way (going East) into the campus.

  5. Continue on Frank Schlessinger Way and you will see the tan, cement and glass one-story building that is Alumni House. The main entrance of the large Haas Pavilion faces the Alumni House.

Public parking near Alumni House can be found at the following lots:

Campus departments can make prior arrangements with UC Berkeley Parking and Transportation for visitor permits to park right next to Alumni House in the Dwinelle Lot.
