On the evening of January 14, Chancellor Nick Dirks of UC Berkeley participated in a live, online question-and-answer session for alumni and parents.
More than 1,000 questions were submitted from alumni, parents and friends of the University, not only all over California but throughout the US, from New York to Oregon, and around the world, from Panama to Australia.
Six issues were selected for the 45-minute program based on the issues that rose to the top of the collective agenda of those that registered for the event. These included:
Berkeley’s public character and mission
Our global presence and activities
Access and affordability
State support for public higher education
Building a research and innovation ecosystem in and around campus
Watch the entire Q&A session moderated by Dan Mogulof, executive director of communications and public affairs for UC Berkeley.
