Run for California 5K 2021 Recap
Thank you to all the Golden Bears who participated in our second annual Run for California 5K on October 1 – 3, 2021! More than 300 runners and walkers set their courses (and their paces) this past Homecoming weekend to demonstrate their Cal spirit at our virtual race.
UC Berkeley alumni and friends from all around the globe donned blue and gold attire and submitted their race times. Cal spirit came from not only the United States but also Great Britain, Israel, Norway, Singapore, and Taiwan! By the end of the weekend, our participants had covered about 963 miles, or 1,605 kilometers, collectively.
In addition to running or walking, many racers submitted photos to CAA’s photo contests. The images of Golden Bears, often with their families, showing off their Cal spirit while supporting CAA’s student and alumni programs warmed our hearts. Although not every photo could win, thank you, everyone, for all the winsome photos shared from the Run for California 5K!
