The Achievement Award Program

Since 1999, The Achievement Award Program (TAAP) has provided low-income students with the resources needed to attend and excel at UC Berkeley. TAAP serves high-achieving, community-minded students from the moment they choose UC Berkeley through their undergraduate career, providing both financial assistance and supportive programming.

Program Requirements

This scholarship comes with holistic programming to assist you in your personal, academic, and professional growth. Participation in this programming is a mandatory part of being an Alumni Scholar, and will connect you to a community of scholars, alumni, and staff to help you navigate Cal.
  1. Full-time enrollment at UC Berkeley.
  2. Participation in retreats, workshops, and alumni engagement events, and one-on-one advising throughout the academic year.
  3. “Satisfactory Academic Progress” as defined by the Office of Financial Aid and the scholar’s college.
  4. Submit an application by the deadline, May 3, 2020.

  • Must be eligible for Cal Grant A, check your eligibility here
  • Completed high-school or GED requirements in California, please note this is regardless of immigration status
  • Submit a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to UC Berkeley by May 1, 2020
Incoming Junior Transfer
  • Must be eligible for Cal Grant A, check your eligibility here
  • Completed high-school, GED or community college transfer requirements in California, please note this is regardless of immigration status
  • Submit a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to UC Berkeley by June 1, 2020
