Alumni Chapters Manual
This manual provides practical information for Alumni Chapters as you lead your chapter, such as key elements of the program, helpful information for creating and sustaining a chapter, and ideas for fulfilling chapters’ service to Cal.
This handbook introduces new volunteers to service opportunities through the Cal Alumni Association (CAA) and reintroduces policies and procedures to veteran volunteers. It also addresses many of the most frequently asked questions about volunteering with CAA.
Volunteer Interest Form
Volunteers can indicate areas of interest to CAA using this form. A program representative will contact volunteers with more information based on their interests.
Email Request Form
Chartered Alumni Chapters can request up to four email blasts per year to be sent on their behalf to a wider audience of alumni. To request an email blast, a chapter leader must submit this form.
Event Supplies Request Form
Chapters that are hosting an event and would like to have supplies such as CAA-branded nametags, pom-poms, and cheer cards should request them using this form. Please note that requests take a minimum of two weeks to fulfill and must abide by the limits outlined.
Event Liability Insurance
CAA contracts with CampusConnexions for event liability insurance. Apply for your chapter events at least two weeks before your event date to bind coverage. Complete your application online or read more in our Alumni Chapters Manual. This is a complimentary resource for chartered alumni chapters of CAA.
Event Reporting Submission
Alumni Chapters are expected to complete this report for all chapter-hosted events. Event reports provide essential data on the depth and breadth of engagement that chapters provide to the alumni community.
Board Membership Update Tool
Alumni Chapters are expected to utilize this tool to inform CAA when board members are added or removed, or to provide updates to board members’ contact information.
Grant Program Application
CAA’s grant program is designed to help chapters cover out-of-pocket expenses for events and program costs. Please note the guidelines, qualifications, expectations, and application timeline outlined.
CAA-Hosted Chapter Websites
All chartered Alumni Chapters must maintain a CAA-hosted website with up-to-date information and calls to action for their constituents. See more about the benefits of a hosted chapter website, and learn how to get started.
