Jim Kirk’s experience at Cal provided him with an outstanding education and an exposure to a diverse culture that significantly impacted his perspective and guided him throughout his career. Jim grew up in the East Bay, received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas Business School at the University of California, and became a CPA early in his career.

Jim has held senior operations and financial roles with nonprofit organizations over the last 20 years.Before that, he was president of a hotel management company that operated boutique properties on the west coast. His nonprofit experience includes serving as the chief financial and operating officer at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco and the chief financial officer at the San Francisco Symphony. Along with providing consulting and advisory services to various nonprofit organizations, Jim has also served on the Children’s Council of San Francisco board of directors in various roles for nine years. His commitment to diversity and equal rights for all has driven his personal and professional growth.

Jim has been a San Francisco resident for more than 40 years. He has two adult children and lives with his wife, Audrey, in San Francisco.
