Alumni House Event Assistant
HOURS: Average 10 hours per week. Flexible work shifts during the day, evenings and weekends.
SUMMARY: As an Event Assistant you will play a key and critical role in providing customer service for guests visiting Alumni House. You would be joining a fun and dynamic team of about 10 other Event Assistants that quickly and efficiently perform event set up and clean up duties for guests who rent our Alumni House facility. As a member of the Event Assistant team you help keep Alumni House presentable and welcoming to all guests.
Responsibilities
- Move and arrange up furniture, and clean up before and after events held at Alumni House
- Serve as main point of contact for evening and weekend events, and provide customer service and general event security
- Provide front desk receptionist coverage
- Assemble CAA membership packets
- Assist with special projects as needed
Required Qualifications
Must have flexible schedule, and ability to work during normal business hours
- Able to move and carry furniture; able to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, with meticulous attention to detail
- Must have customer service skills
- Must submit to and pass Consumer Report and FBI/DOB fingerprint background investigations.
- Must possess valid CA driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Previous work experience
Pay Rate
- $17-$19 per hour
- Must be Workstudy eligible

COVID-19 Temporary Adjustments
The Cal Alumni Association is preparing for our return to the office. Staff will be expected to work a hybrid schedule, with some jobs required to work onsite a majority of the time depending on job duties.
