Golden Bear Express
About UC Berkeley’s Golden Bear Express
The Golden Bear Express is a program that covers transportation from Southern California to Berkeley on Move-In Day for students in need who are beginning their studies at Cal in the fall. Flights depart from airports throughout Southern California (San Diego, Orange County, Long Beach, Ontario and Burbank), each bringing 25–40 new undergraduate students (first-year and transfer) to Oakland International Airport.
The Cal Alumni Association’s Alumni Chapters partner with UC Berkeley’s New Student Services to provide transportation to Berkeley on the Golden Bear Express. Alumni volunteers are stationed at five Southern California airports to send off new Golden Bears, while Northern California alumni welcome the students with open arms in Oakland. See more from the Golden Bear Express.
Volunteer on Move-In Day
There are two ways you can volunteer on Move-In Day):
1) Southern California: Airport send-offs (LGB, ONT, SNA, BUR, SAN)
2) Bay Area: Oakland Airport welcome
