Interview Scholarship Finalists

Join fellow Cal alumni to interview scholarship finalists for The Leadership Award (TLA) and The Achievement Award Program (TAAP) and strengthen your connection to Cal while networking with fellow alums and meeting prospective Cal students.

How It Works

Interview panels are conducted in person across the country or via Zoom or Google Hangouts. Scholarships Chairs, our lead Alumni Scholarships Program volunteers*, organize and coordinate interviews with local alumni. All interviewers are given an orientation by their Scholarships Chair that includes information about how to assess a candidate’s fit for the scholarship program and best practices for interviewing. If you are interested in serving as an interviewer, register below or contact your local scholarship chair.

Interviews are conducted in July for incoming first-year and transfer students. As of the 2024-2025 academic year we will no longer be holding interview events for current Cal undergraduates in September. The Leadership Award is changing to a multi-year award which students receive as they enter their undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley.
