If you are curious about learning more about our upcoming travel reception June 3, 2018 (2:30-4:30 p.m.) here are some questions and answers to guide you:
Q: What exactly happens at the travel reception?
A: We expect a few hundred people to attend to learn more about our 70+ upcoming trips in 2019. You can talk with our tour operator partners who will be available to answer any questions you may have about a particular trip. Our lecturers will also be available to answer questions about the trips that they are signed up to lead next year. We will have wine, light appetizers, and a brief speaking program. Our tour operators will each have a table set up in our Toll/Bechtel Rooms on campus at Alumni House and (weather permitting) we will have tables outside on the patio for you to sit, chat, and catch up with other fellow travelers.
Q: Do I need to RSVP?
A: Yes, we do ask for you to let us know if you will be attending so we can have a head count in order to purchase the right amount of food. We will print nametags and you will need to check-in when you arrive. This is a free event and a way for us to say thank you to our loyal past travelers and to welcome and meet potential new travelers.
Q: How do I get to the Alumni House?

Q: Where can I park?
A: View the campus parking options, or look for street parking closest to Bancroft Way and Dana Way. Most streets have metered parking, so please be sure to take notice if there is a meter, though meters are usually free on Sunday. There is a paid parking garage between Telegraph Avenue and Dana Street with entrances on Channing Way and Durant Avenue. Q: Can I take public transportation?
A: Certainly—and for some it may be easier than looking for a parking spot. Here are a few options for public transportation:
BART: the nearest stop is Downtown Berkeley followed by a half-mile walk up through campus to the Alumni House. You can also stop at the Rockridge Station and transfer to AC Transit and take a bus the rest of the way.
AC Transit (bus): From the Rockridge area, take the 51B bus down College Avenue. It is approximately a 20-minute bus ride to campus. Your stop would be Telegraph Avenue and Bancroft Way. The UC Berkeley Parking and Transportation website has a link in the bottom right corner to an online trip planner that can also assist you if you need further information on public transportation options.
