Your connection to Cal doesn’t have to end with graduation. UC Berkeley still has your back with a community of Golden Bears and a variety of resources to help you succeed at every stage of life.
Here are some opportunities for alumni to remain connected with UC Berkeley.
Subscribe to The Cal Connection and other alumni emails.
Stay up-to-date on the latest Berkeley news and what your fellow alums are up to. The monthly email newsletter, The Cal Connection, rounds up the latest events, stories, learning opportunities, and campus happenings. Or, if you’re interested in Cal Athletics or travel, there are emails on those topics as well.
Follow our social media accounts (and share your own posts!).
Follow the Cal Alumni Association on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram for campus events, photos of your favorite spots on campus, and more. Are you bleeding blue and gold or visiting the campus? Post a picture of how you’re still #berkeleyforlife for a chance to be featured on our channels.
Attend alumni events.
UC Berkeley and its affiliates host a variety of events specifically for alumni each year. Whether you’re looking for events local to your area or for an excuse to visit Berkeley campus, there’s something for you.
Pro Tip: Interested in receiving email notifications about upcoming events? Update your email address.

Renew your berkeley.edu account.
Yes, you can keep your Berkeley email address! Berkeley currently allows alumni to renew the active @berkeley.edu Google account they had as a former student, employee, or participant in a prior Alumni Email Service. See the Alumni Email Service FAQ for details.
Get a UC Berkeley library card.
Miss pulling all-nighters in the Stacks? Neither do we. But you can continue to visit the UC Berkeley libraries with an alumni library card. Access to over 40 million books, without any of the late-night finals cramming. (Fun fact: if you’re a member of the Cal Alumni Association, your library card is free!)

Join UC Berkeley career networks.
Start your career off right! Join the Cal Alumni Association LinkedIn Group and the Berkeley Career Network for professional advice from fellow alums. You can also access career-development resources and webinars from the UC Alumni Career Network. And, if you’d like to pay it forward, volunteer to mentor current undergraduates.
Enroll in UC Berkeley Extension courses.
Learning doesn’t end with graduation. UC Berkeley Extension is Cal’s continuing education division and offers discounted courses to UC Berkeley alumni. Berkeley-quality instructors lead professional development classes, certification programs, and more to help you in your next career step. Work during the day? UC Berkeley Extension offers evening, virtual, and recorded courses to fit your schedule. Whether you’re starting off your career or switching professions, UC Berkeley Extension can equip you.
Join an alumni chapter.

You may have left campus, but your Cal alumni community is always close by. Alumni Chapters are alumni groups organized by regions, cultures, or special interests. Alumni Chapters connect alums through events around the country, internationally, or even online. Don’t find a chapter that suits your interests? Create your own!
Become a member of the Cal Alumni Association.
The Cal Alumni Association (CAA) has been connecting alumni with UC Berkeley opportunities and resources since 1872. As a CAA member, you get the latest information about campus benefits and events as well as a free subscription to the award-winning magazine, California. Plus, your membership dues keep UC Berkeley golden for future students by supporting our scholarship programs.
New graduates get a special 50% off Life Membership or $35 off annual membership. But, of course, it’s never too late or too early to strengthen your connection with Cal.
