Anna L. Santos de Dios, a graduate of Air Force ROTC at Cal, has been promoted to Deputy Director of the 844th Communications Group at Joint Base Andrews near Washington, DC. A member of the Civil Service, Anna separated from active duty after eight years and is thrilled to lead the Group, with three subordinate squadrons across three bases, including her former command, the 844th Communications Squadron at the Pentagon. The Group’s mission set includes worldwide travel communications support to the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other senior leaders. The Group also serves as the executive agent for all services sustaining the National Military Command Center, maintains video security for Air Force One, and ensures connectivity for the Air Force Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.
Anna also recently completed a Master’s Degree in Government Information Leadership (basically, “How to be a Federal CIO”) from the National Defense University, and has become an avid e-cyclist, planning her next ride from Bruges to Amsterdam with Kalai Herrick, her best friend from Cal.
