In June, Katie (Marshall) Ali (’07) launched a boutique civil rights litigation firm, Ali & Lockwood LLP, in Washington, DC. Thirty-eight years, a few marriages and three kids since Cal, Tim Beer-McCormick ’84 is practicing law with Haapala, Thompson & Abern in Oakland. Eric Mart ’70 – a past President of the Cal Alumni Association – recently completed a two year term on the UC Board of Regents. He is now a “Regent Emeritus”. Eric and his wife Janie also recently welcomed their first grandchild – Felix Mart Durant – class of 2043.

Jane Kuo‘s debut middle grade novel, In the Beautiful Country, is forthcoming from HarperCollins/Quill Tree on June 14, 2022. Loosely based on the author’s own experience, the story is about an immigrant girl’s first year in America.
Prerak Juthani graduated with his MD and MBA from the Yale School of Medicine and the Yale School of Management this past month. He is excited to return back to the Bay Area to start his Internal Medicine residency training at Stanford (but we won’t hold that against him).
